About Us

The George Washington University (GW) Global Clinical Care Alliance (GCCA) seeks to forge connections, synergies, and opportunities for partnership among clinicians from GW pursuing all aspects of global health.

This alliance draws upon a wide-array of clinical providers, representing the full spectrum medical specialties, to lead projects ranging from educational capacity-building, to clinical service delivery, to traditional research partnerships.

In part, the GCCA mission is responsive to the growing Global Surgery and Emergency Critical and Operative (ECO) movement, which advocates for access to timely, high-quality, and affordable health care for everyone, everywhere.

Although embedded within GW’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS), the GCCA seeks to connect the many global programs across GW and the local community, as well as more geographically distant partners in the United States and abroad.

With its unique and vital location in the nation’s capital – with access to many embassies, international headquarters, and key decision-makers – the GCCA aims to advance the goal of achieving health care for all, including those who require costly or complex care and procedures.
